2nd Annual Community Voices at the Hipp

Feb 14, 2012

The Hippodrome Theatre will host the second annual Community Voices public theatre event on Monday, April 23 at 6:00pm.  This year’s theme is Monologues on Change.  We’re inviting residents of Gainesville and surrounding communities to explore the idea of global, local or personal change through monologues.

3 Ways to Participate in Community Voices:

1. Write and submit an original monologue. To get started, you can sign-up for one of our free writing workshops and review our writing tips.  Monologue entries will be juried by a panel of professional theatre artists and educators, and selected monologues will be performed at the event. Submission deadline: March 23.

2.  Sign-up for the Community Action Fair.  Ask your organization to register a table in the community action fair at the Community Voices event.  Share information about your organization’s mission and programs.  What are you doing to create change?  Table registration is free.

 3. Attend the Community Voices event.  Hippodrome actors and HITT (Hippodrome Improvisational Teen Theatre) students will perform selected monologues written by your friends and neighbors.  Visit the community action fair to learn more about how to get involved with local organizations. Monday, April 23 at 6:00pm.
