Free Monologue Writing Workshop

Saturday, February 18 from 12:00 to 2:30pm
Theatre professor and playwright Dr. Charlie Mitchell will host this workshop at the Hipp on developing character and voice. Both beginning and experienced writers will come away with useful tools for creating a character and monologue from scratch. This hands-on seminar will include both lecture and writing components. Just bring your pen and paper.
Dr. Charlie Mitchell is an assistant professor of theatre at the University of Florida. He received a BFA from Ithaca College in acting, an MA from Boston University in playwriting and a PhD in Theatre from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He has penned two full-length plays, several one-acts, the book and lyrics for two musicals, and a variety of short pieces for children. He has also directed numerous plays and musicals and has worked as an actor in Chicago, Baltimore, and New York City.
