  • 2010 – Department of Children and Families Substance Abuse Services Best Practices Award
  • 2006 – Florida Department of Juvenile Justice Residential & Correctional Facilities Volunteer Award
  • 2005 – HITT designated by Department of Children and Families as Community Model Replication Program.
  • 2005 – Florida Statewide Prevention Conference’s Who’s Who of Prevention Leaders
  • 1996 through 2006 – HITT invited by Florida International Volunteer Corp to develop programs in the West Indies
  • 2004 – Outstanding Achievement Award from the Florida International Volunteer Corps
  • 2002 – Office of Drug Control Certificate of Appreciation for outstanding contribution to the Florida substance abuse reduction effort and service
  • 2002 ? Florida Youth Initiative, Department of Children & Families, and Executive Office of the Governor, Certificate of Accomplishment in recognition for efforts demonstrating science-based prevention
  • 2001 – Steve Tunick Award for Excellence
  • 2001 – Florida Alcohol & Drug Abuse Association Best Practices Award for Most Innovative Program
  • 2001 – First Place Honors for the First Annual Substance Abuse Services Best Practices Award
  • 2000 – Florida Youth Substance Abuse Prevention Initiative Validation Program
  • 1999 – Recognition by President Clinton’s Americorps VISTA Program
  • 1998 – HITT – Honored by Florida Secretary of State Sandra Mortham with a “Very Special Arts Award.”
  • 1995 – National Service Learning Conference in Philadelphia First Place as the best service-learning project in the nation.
  • 1996 – National Service Learning Conference Second Place in the nation honors. Honored at an award ceremony featuring remarks and congratulations from Hillary Clinton, a “Liberty Bell” presentation by Philadelphia Mayor Edward Randell and medals and awards presented by James Kielsmeier, CEO of the National Youth Leadership Council.
  • 1993 – SouthEastern Regional Vision for Education (SERV) one of the best educational programs in the Southeast and featured in SERV’s annual publication “Sharing Success.”
